I took a Sunday drive with my mom to tour Kauai. It’s one of the things I always liked doing. I like driving and sightseeing more now that I’m a full-time real estate agent. I hope you enjoy the video and pictures I took from my iPad and my iPhone.
Sunday - June 29, 2025
KAUAI Coffee
Kauai Coffee is located just past the Eleele shopping center heading east on the main highway in Kalaheo. The gift shop is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, except on Christmas, New Year’s, and Thanksgiving.
Sheraton Poipu - Koloa
I took a detour to Koloa town to visit some of the beautiful hotels and resorts on the south shore of Kauai. I didn’t stay long, but stayed long enough to take pictures of some of the beautiful hotels on the island.
Kukui Grove Shopping Center - Lihue
Kukui Grove shopping center is a mainstay on the island of Kauai. There are eateries, stores, and grocery stores for visitors and residents. It’s about a little over a mile from the Lihue Airport. It’s on the right side of the main highway heading east if you’re driving from the west side of the island.

Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort - Lihue
The Outrigger Beach Resort & Spa is located in Lihue. I’m not familiar with the hotel, but I wanted to drive around the island and take as many pictures as I can. For more information, you can visit their website.

KFC - For Lunch
KFC needs no introductions. I eat at the fast food restaurant every once in a while because eating there can be costly and not very healthy. But today’s lunch was good.
Kapaa Ross’ Store
My mom likes to visit the Ross stores on Kauai, so I stopped by the store for a break before heading back west to Lihue.
Walmart - Lihue
Walmart is everywhere. I always enjoy shopping at Walmart in Lihue for its convenience and affordable food and clothing prices. I was still in the driving mood, so we headed back east to Kapaa. This stop was more of me taking more pictures.

The Kauai Bus
We started back to Lihue to take pictures of the Kauai Bus station. The Kauai Bus is one of the best additions to the island. There was no island bus service when I was growing up. But the county returned the bus service many years later.

Hanapepe Valley Lookout
By this time, I was getting tired of driving, and I noticed my mom was tired also, so we started back home. But not before we stopped at the lookout overlooking the Hanapepe valley off the main highway before we reached Eleele.
Final Thoughts
I had a nice time today because I had lunch with my mom, drove around the island, and took in the many parts of the island. I also like viewing the many houses on the island.
