I am thrilled to begin the next chapter in my journey. I retired from teaching in the Hawaii public school system as a high school math teacher at the end of the 2024 - 2025 school year. After 27 years of classroom teaching, with my first year at a private school, I’m starting from step 1 again.
Real estate has been a good investment for me. I purchased my first condominium in the heart of Honolulu where I lived for most of my teaching years. I sold my condominium when I returned home to Kauai for a considerable profit.
After spending the last two years teaching at my high school alma mater, I realized I wanted to return to real estate as a real estate agent.
I first received my real estate license in 2003, with the expectation of working full-time as a teacher and part-time as a real estate agent. But I soon learned, as a young teacher, that it was difficult to do. I set aside my real estate business aspirations and focused on my teaching career.
I had always wanted to return to real estate, so one year before retiring as a teacher, I took the necessary courses and passed the exams to obtain my real estate license. I am now an active real estate agent in the state of Hawaii.
I returned home two years ago to the island of Kauai, where I was born and raised. Interestingly, I live within three miles of where I went to elementary, middle, and high school. My elementary school is two blocks from where I live.
I also live within three miles of the hospital where I was born. I returned home to take care of my mom during her golden years. That was something I prayed to god for and wanted to do. And, I love living at home. I made my bedroom into a home office. I still have more work to do, but I love everything about Kauai.
With my newsletter, I hope to showcase the beautiful island of Kauai. I love everything about living in the countryside. I get to grill in my backyard, grow some vegetables, and do whatever yard work I need.
As a retired teacher and now a real estate agent, I get to schedule my day as I choose. I’m an independent contractor with eXp Realty. That means I’m part of the organization, but I run my business through that company.
I look forward to showing you the many aspects of my home on Kauai.
